Red Rock Canyon
Another first for me - Red Rocks, Nevada. The rocks were definitely a lot more forgiving than the rough slab in Joshua Tree, but another kind of challenging. We didn’t have nearly enough time here; in fact, we were all pretty worn from the previous climbing day that we couldn’t climb all that we wanted to. It’s not smart to neglect rest days…and we did not have any rest days. It’s been non-stop climbing since Sunday. But we got in as much as we could before having to leave again. We went through the scenic loop, a 13 mile drive through the canyon, and it was incredible. We even saw people on the faces climbing, and it was insane to see how small they were on the rocks. Just looking at the mountains, they’re obviously huge, but until there is a person to show scale…it’s mind boggling.
